ONLINE LEARNING FOR ADULT FAITH FORMATION

IN THE DIOCESE OF HAMILTON

The Diocese of Hamilton is pleased to have The University of Dayton: Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) as a partner in adult faith formation. The VLCFF is a living adult faith community offering online learning opportunities to address the learning needs of adults in our Diocese. Whether taking courses for professional development in ministry or for personal nourishment, the VLCFF provides a breadth of opportunity for learning including full certificate programs, five-week online courses and three-week intensive online seminars. These learning opportunities are designed by knowledgeable catechetical and ministry leaders in the field bringing both expert theory and praxis into a rich blend of online learning.

Thanks to our partnership agreement with Dayton University, anyone in the Diocese of Hamilton has access to any five-week course at a discounted rate of $50 USD per course, or three-week seminar at a discounted rate of $40 USD per seminar. The Pastoral Offices in the Diocese of Hamilton have worked very hard to house/stock many of the required course texts both in our discounted inventory as well as the Bishop Farrell Library for your purchase and/or use.

We encourage you to visit the Dayton site to explore what they have to offer you and your parish. These courses would be extremely useful for catechists, ministry leaders, formation study groups and those simply looking to deepen their faith.

Further information about any of these programs can be obtained by contacting the Office for Evangelization and Catechesis at (905) 528-7988 x 2239 or catechesis@hamiltondiocese.com.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HAVING THIS
DIOCESAN PARTNERSHIP FOR ADULT FAITH FORMATION?

1.

It allows us to expand our reach in Adult Faith Formation programs throughout the Diocese.

3.

The diversity in on-line cohorts offers a broader range of knowledge and experience to be shared.

2.

Those who wish to participate in formation programs but find it difficult because of timing of the course offered or work schedules will find the on-line courses far more convenient.

4.

Because of the partnership the cost per course is half of what the regular fee would be.
